supposedly he has better awareness in the pocket and his read progession is better than Alex.  Like i said at last training camp, i didn't see it.   He doesn't have the greatest arm.  He can read and react, but does he have the arm to deliver the ball down the field.

Alex has all the physical traits you look for in a QB but that dont mean nothing if you're looking like a deer in the headlights

yeah thats cause hill played against the horrible bengals defense and buccaneers back ups. alex was injured in the few games he did play in so i dont really count those against him but in the first 3 or 4 games when he was healthy he looked decent. and that was under the worst oc in the history of football. Jim Hostler.

meh, we barely beat out the cards and the rams, 126 yards in the first two games, no TDs

and 209 yards against the steelers, but that was an asswhoopin' and a half, so you know why he managed to break the 200 yd mark, he had no choice but to pass, pass, pass... oh and he got 1 TD... in the 4th qtr... in garbage time

shaun hill on the other hand went 22-27 for 181 yds and a TD against the vikes.... mostly in the 2nd half. sure they were getting their asses handed to them by that point (thank trent dilfer), but he had a 81.5 % completion percentage... that's on par with some of the best free throw shooters in the NBA.

he went 21-28 for 197 yds, 75% completion percentage against the bengals, which is a team that's right on par with any NFC west team outside of the Seahawks. sure 200 yds isnt that much, but when you're hitting your targets, it helps keep the defense honest and spring Gore for 138 yards!!!

and even though his completion percentage wasnt that great against TB, (which the TB defense played the whole game BTW) he still got 3 TDs in the air, tying Smith's best TD total which he managed to get against the 2-14 2006 Oakland Raiders.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why Hill > Smith  :peace:

(which aint saying much, but it's all we got)
